Zinc is one of the most common metal finishes out there. Zinc is the selfless one, it sacrifices itself to protect what lies underneath. Being incredibly easy to apply, it makes up the bulk of our work here at R&S Plating. Over the decades we’ve finished what seems like a little bit of everything with zinc plating. Having the capability to barrel, wire, and rack, we can provide an excellent turnaround time on your job. We service work of all shapes and sizes. Custom shaped parts are no problem, our creative minds and resources are happy to design a custom rack or hook to handle your work in the highest quality and most time efficient manner possible.
While zinc doesnt quite offer the durability of cadmium or hard chrome, perhaps its biggest advantage over those two is simple….price. Zinc provides solid corrosion resistance at an affordable, cost effective price that makes your pocketbook smile!
We keep it simple at R&S Plating, there are two zinc finishes to choose from…bright and yellow zinc. Bright zinc is sometimes known as “clear” or “silver” or “trivalent”. Yellow zinc involves a chromate dip. While we dont offer painting service at R&S, yellow zinc comes with the added bonus of paint love. Paint does a wonderful job of adhering to yellow zinc for a smooth, uniform finish.
We service work of all shapes and sizes at R&S Plating. From Indy 500 racecar parts to military gear to the tiniest of electronic components, we’ve seen alot in our 71 years.
