About Our Ohio Metal Plating Services

We provide a broad range of metal plating services. Some of the most popular options we offer include hard chrome plating, zinc plating, cadmium plating, and copper plating.

Our Metal Plating Services:

Cadmium Plating has one of the highest corrosion ratings. This makes it one of the most used plating types.

Hard Chrome Plating is durable and corrosion resistant and is used on a wide variety of parts.

Copper Plating is often used because of its high ratings for conductivity.

Passivation Plating is commonly known to increase the life of your metal. During this process, we give your part an intense wash, then submerge the part in a chemical bath to give your substrate a protective film.

Zinc Plating is often found as one of the most cost-effective applications that can protect against rust. We now offer the best Black Zinc Plating around.

White Layer is used to remove brittle layers off of your metal after the nitriding process. We refill the tank between every use, for the best care of your parts.

The Purpose of Metal Plating

The primary objective of metal plating is to strengthen and protect the underlying object. Without that thin layer of metal, the item is much more likely to be affected by corrosion and friction. That means an untreated object will break down a lot quicker than one with a metal overlay.

The Method We Use

The majority of the projects we complete are done via the electroplating method. Though electroplating was first introduced in the early 1800s, the process has been refined and improved quite a bit since then.

During the electroplating process, a thin layer of metal is deposited onto an object. This is accomplished by placing the item and overlay metal into an electrolyte bath and running an electric current through it. This current generates a chemical reaction causing the overlying metal to dissolve into the solution then coat the object.

The Importance of Professional Metal Plating

The process may sound simple, but there are a variety of factors that affect how well the end product turns out, including:

  • Ohio Metal PlatingThe temperature of the electrolyte bath
  • The solution’s chemical composition
  • The level of voltage used
  • How long the electrical current is applied
  • …and more

With so many factors to take into consideration, it’s important to hire professional technicians to meet your metal plating needs. If you’d like to talk to us about how we can help with your metal plating project, just give us a call at 317-925-2396.
