- Increased Torque Resistance
- Better Reflectiveness
Types of Indianapolis Surface Finishing
Metal Plating– At our Indianapolis facility, machines are used for chemical baths to coat the surface with a thin coat of another metal. There is a method, called electroplating, that creates a current with electricity that will add a thin layer to the substrate.
Copper Plating– Copper has one of the highest conductivity ratings of all surface finishing. We can add and remove copper finishing. We surface finish shafts, bearings, aircraft parts, flanges, and more.
Passivation Finishing– This surface finishing increases the life of your metal. The process starts with an extreme parts wash. Next, your part will be submerged into a chemical bath that will give it a protective layer. Passivation finishing is completed on feeder bowls, vibratory feeder systems, vent systems, aircraft components, and more.
Hard Chrome Finishing– This finish is known for its durability and resistance to corrosion. We not only surface finish with hard chrome but, we also can remove hard chrome finishing. There is a turn around time of about 5 to 7 days on hard chrome finishes. We often hard chrome finish shafts, aircrafts components, tools, molds, and centrifuge bowls.
Cadmium Surface Finishing– Due to its high corrosion resistance, cadmium finishing is one of the most commonly used. Depending on size, the average project can take as little as 72 hours to complete. The most common cadmium finished items are washers, nuts, magnets, shafts, threaded rods, timing mechanisms, and more.
White Layer– This is used for the removal of brittle layers from nitriding. This process can be done on all sized parts. We refill our tanks before every use to be able to provide you with the best quality treatment possible. We often white layer spacers, shafts, rings, and more!
Zinc Surface Finishing– Zinc finishing is most often used to protect against rust because it is one of the most cost-effective methods. We can wire, rack, or barrel any of your metals.
